Sony Ericsson Xperia Play launched

Sony Ericsson’s much-anticipated new smartphone, the Xperia Play, has now been released.
Whilst being described by its creators as a “smartphone first”, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is really for gamers; specifically, for fans of old-school PlayStation games.
The model is forgivably chunky, as it has a 4-inch, 480 x 854 screen, a long-lasting battery (five and a half hours) and a gamepad which slides out smoothly. It is sturdy yet responsive, and powerful enough to run most games.
Downsides to the Xperia Play, however, are that some games tend to crash and the touchpads don’t quite cut the mustard.
