53% of UK phone users don’t think they need online security

According to a new survey conducted by internet security firm Bullguard, a total of 53 per cent of UK phone users said that they didn’t think they needed online security.

Bullguard’s researchers spoke to 2,000 people as part of the survey, and found the following:

• 49 per cent admitted that they had never had concerns when accessing the internet from a mobile phone
• 42 per cent said online security when using mobile phones had never even crossed their minds

These results are very worrying, especially as spammers, hackers and virus writers tend to target the technology that is the most popular, such as smartphones.
